Tiffany's House

A pretty grouping on a chest behind the loveseat.

Two little runners on the cute cart.  I made these out of canvas and muslin.

I love the tray on the ottoman.  She found this awesome ottoman in Canton and had it reupholstered.  Don't you love the fabric choice?

The breakfast area.  We made the window treatments!  She painted the bookshelf.

The den.  I love the shutters with the grapevine wreaths.  Found these in Tomball.  We made the window treatments in here too.

The office.  I love the colonial schoolhouse look.

Guest room #1...The Texas Room.
I wish my camera could take it all in.  This room is really cool, so much more than you can see.

Entry way hall bench.  Found this in canton.  We think it was an old cafe booth bench.  She did a great job repainting it.  Love the burlap pillow!

A few of the pillows we made.  The burlap one is made from a feed sack,  I love Canton and the wonderful ideas we come across there.

This was my surprise pillow I made today.  It's a pocket pillow with a picture of Grandmother and her little new testament.  I added one of her favorite hymns, "Sweet By and By".

Guest room #2...Vintage
She repainted the dresser a beautiful light gray.

Same room...look at the cute tattered lampshade and beautiful old shutter.  I made the burlap bed runner after seeing one in Canton.

Don't you just love the mantle shelf and the stained glass window?

She has done an awesome job putting everything together.  We have had such a good time shopping and  making stuff.

Now on to the next set of projects waiting on me.

A new year

I am not sure exactly where November and December went, but here we are in January!  Yes, we did have Thanksgiving and Christmas.  In fact, we had a wonderful Christmas with the whole family.  All 19 of us!
It was so much fun having everyone together!

Terry and I took a trip to Colorado the week before the kids arrived.  It was great to relax before the craziness.

I have been helping Tiffany a little with her house.  She has done a great job making it feel warm and inviting.  We have made window treatments, rearranged furniture, hung things on the walls, made pillows and a few other fun things.  She has been working diligently to get everything just right.  Hopefully I will have pictures to share soon.

I pray you all have a wonderful and prosperous New Year!

It's Almost "Boo Time"

I'm getting so excited about the "Boo Time Party" this week.  I've been busy getting every thing ready for all the little goblins to be here.  I will hopefully have some great pictures to share after all of the fun I have planned.

Sew Fun

I have had so much fun this week with several little sewing projects.

Zach wanted a new "Z" shirt.  He requested a cheetah print.  This was as close as I could get without it looking too girlie.

One of the two halloween appliqued shirts for Cade and Reid.

My first attempt at making shoes for Aubrey.

And finally, Tiffany and I made these cute headbands today.

Can't wait to make some cute things next week.  Thank you pinterest for all the ideas!

A Sweet Little Ghost

I finally got a tutorial for my new embroidery machine.  This is my first project.  Of course I saw it on Pinterest.  I searched the internet for the cute ghost applique and found it!  I can't wait to see my sweet Katie and Aubrey in these.

A Little Crafting Weekend

Our 5th daughter, Taleigh, came in town this weekend!  We did a little crafting while she was here.  We have all become big fans of Pinterest and most of the things we cook, bake, decorate or craft lately seems to be an inspiration from someone"s "board".  Here are a few pictures of the things we did this weekend.

Taleigh's new sister-in-laws have 3 sweet little girls and requested some cute halloween pants for them.  I'm not the greatest seamstress, but I thought they turned out pretty cute.  I just hope they fit :)

I wanted a new wreath for the newly painted back gate.  I love the big roll of burlap we found at Michael's.  It makes a perfect bow.

Lastly, Taleigh made these cute Christmas ornaments she had seen on Pinterest.
Styrofoam balls wrapped with muslin, linen and burlap strips.  A loop of jute pinned on with pearl head pins.  They are much cuter in person.

It was a good weekend, just not long enough.  I'm so excited about this week.  I am getting a tutorial on how to monogram and applique on my new sewing machine.  More to come!

A New Port A Cache

As many of you know, we have a son with special needs.

 T. J. is a very happy 22 year old who is non ambulatory and 100% dependent.  He has grown so tall lately that he had outgrown our old van.  He could actually turn the reading lights on with his head when we hit a bump.  OUCH!  We finally got a new handicap accessible van with an extended roof last March.  We love all the extra room it offers, but it doesn't fit in our garage.

The solution? A new port a cache!

It not only protects the van from the elements but it will also keep everyone dry while loading and unloading when it rains (Will it ever rain again?).  Personally, I think it will be a great place for a party :)

I could put up some tables and maybe even hang fabric to enclose it for more privacy.  I'm ready to start planning!!
