The Kitchen

Okay, I know I said I was going to start with weddings, but, I don't have pictures of the second one yet.  Instead I'm going to jump back to our kitchen remodel last summer.  My, what a crazy time!  We not only had the kitchen done, but also all of the bathroom countertops, sinks and cabinets.  We had moving boxes every where for at least 2 months.  I will spare you all the pictures of the nitty gritty and just show some of the before and after.  All of the cabinets were painted and glazed, the wall where the fridge was was moved back into the wet bar, the island was extended and painted, granite countertops were installed along with new sinks faucets and stovetop.  Here are some of the before shots.

Notice how the fridge sticks out from the wall.
The wet bar is behind it.  We lost the cabinets and countertop, but wait until you see what I got instead!

See how far the fridge sticks out and how little the island is
Now the AFTER
Look at all that floor space now that the fridge is flush with the wall and did you notice the additional counter space on the island!

See the new floor to ceiling cabinet! More storage space than I had before!

New stovetop, granite and backsplash...I love my granite!
We chose not to paint all the woodwork because there is so much of it all over the house.  The stained door really doesn't look that bad in person.
We had the desk and the island painted black with a little distressing to give a little contrast.  We also had the inside panels of the cabinets on those two pieces replaced with beadboard paneling.

Isn't it amazing what a little paint can do!
